The modern era - F3 Euroseries.

1999 - 2006

1999 marks the first year of the era that we can now call the modern era, quite simply because the races which replaced F3000 at that time are still being held today.

The F3 Euroseries is a competition that exists within a European context because it is run on racetracks in 6 different countries, and welcomes competitors from 10 different nationalities.

Although the first year was somewhat disappointing, the discipline was quickly able to find its feet and follow on from the preceding formulas by offering a spectacle laden with quality. You could say that nowadays it is up to its cruising speed.

The future of the Pau Grand Prix depends on its capacity to reconcile its "historic past" with the modern age. Given the current sporting climate, keeping the race in the forefront of public interest isn't an easy task. The city of Pau doesn't lack assets, but even so heavy investment and considerable development will almost certainly be needed in order to maintain the prestige of this race.
